Tenor Tutor is a valuable educational tool for novice cello, viola, trombone, or bassoon players looking to enhance their music reading skills, particularly in tenor and alto clef. This application presents basic music theory through an engaging flash-card game format, facilitating rapid memorization of essential concepts related to tenor and alto clef music recognition.

Users have the flexibility to select between tenor and alto clef displays. For those interested in learning treble or bass clef, the Note Tutor app is available for download in the App Store.

The app is designed for incremental learning, helping users establish a foundation in note recognition through random repetition exercises. The introductory version allows players to start from the basics and progress at their own pace while developing a solid grounding in music theory.

To engage with Tenor Tutor, users simply identify notes by tapping the corresponding A, B, C, D, E, F, or G button. Correct answers earn points and prompt advancement to the next note, while incorrect answers result in a point deduction but provide an opportunity for retrying the question.

The scoring system records the number of correctly recognized notes per minute. It encourages users to maintain a quick yet accurate tempo, as performance may fluctuate based on pacing, regardless of accuracy. Access to controls for changing the clef display can be found by pressing the "i" button within the app.
